Hezbollah denies UNIFIL attack role

Hezbollah has denied any involvement in an attack on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) patrol in the village of Ghanduriyah in southern Lebanon. The incident involved small-arms fire and resulted in the death of a French peacekeeper and three other injuries. UNIFIL stated the patrol was clearing ordnance at the time of the attack. The group called for caution in making judgments and assigning responsibility for the incident.
