Ukraine intercepts 190 of 219 Russian drones

Ukraine successfully intercepted the vast majority of Russian drones launched in a massive overnight attack on April 17-18, 2026. Ukrainian air defenses downed or suppressed 190 of the 219 drones launched, including approximately 150 Iranian-made Shahed UAVs. The attack resulted in impacts at 17 different locations across Ukraine, with debris from downed drones falling at 9 additional sites. This represents one of the largest drone attacks since Russia's invasion began, testing Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
