Ex-US official: Washington lied about wars

A former senior US State Department official, who served as chief of staff to Colin Powell, has made a series of explosive accusations against the US government. In a video statement, he claimed Washington lied about the wars in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Libya. He further alleged that parts of the government have hidden the reality and consequences of these wars from public opinion for years, and that some US-provided weapons have ended up in the hands of terrorist groups.
