Denmark revives migrant deportation law

Denmark's new parliament is expected to pass a law introducing mandatory deportations for foreigners sentenced to one year or more in prison for violent crimes. The reform, which overrides interpretations of the European Convention on Human Rights, is anticipated to be approved in the coming months. This marks a revival of the policy after its implementation was previously postponed from a scheduled May 1st start date.
