A superyacht reportedly associated with sanctioned Russian billionaire Alexey Mordashov has passed through the Strait of Hormuz, becoming one of the few vessels to do so in recent days. The 142-meter yacht Nord, valued at over $500 million, departed Dubai on Friday and reached Muscat by Sunday, based on data from MarineTraffic. While Mordashov is not formally identified as the owner, Russian corporate records from 2025 indicate the vessel was registered in 2022 to a company owned by his wife. This unusual maritime movement occurs amid heightened tensions and a US-Iran standoff over control of the strategic waterway.
