Iranian Kurdish prisoner faces imminent execution

The family of Naser Bakrzadeh, a 26-year-old Kurdish political prisoner, is pleading for public and international help to stop his imminent execution. Bakrzadeh was arrested in Urmia in 2023 by the IRGC Intelligence organization, tortured, and sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Court on charges of 'espionage for Israel'. His death sentence was overturned twice by Iran's Supreme Court but has now been re-confirmed, putting him at immediate risk. Human rights activists describe the espionage charge as a common regime tactic to justify the execution of political opponents.
