Russia creates center to recruit students for drone troops

The Russian Ministry of Defense has held an interdepartmental meeting with education officials to formalize the recruitment of students into unmanned systems troops. Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Goremykin detailed the contract terms and ruled out coercion, while the Ministry of Science and Higher Education created a specialized center at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute to coordinate the effort. The center will provide methodological support to universities and act as a single point of contact for contract service selection. A working group is also developing additional social support measures for participating students.
