Ukrainian firm accused of 580M UAH defense fraud

A Ukrainian firm is accused of embezzling 580 million hryvnias from a contract worth over 2.5 billion hryvnias for the repair and maintenance of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) equipment. The scheme allegedly involved funneling money through more than 40 fictitious shell companies, some of which listed directors from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The investigation also found that some of the purported Polish founders of these companies were entirely fictional characters.
