🇲🇱 After 24 hours of lightning attacks by Tuareg armed groups—namely the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) and the Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM)—on government forces in Mali's major cities, the country's military, with the assistance of Russia's Africa Corps and Wagner forces, succeeded in repelling the assaults and regaining full control of Bamako, Sévaré, Gao, and other cities in western and central Mali. ‼️During the initial wave of attacks, Mali's Defense Minister Sadio Camara's residence in Bamako was targeted in a suicide bombing, resulting in his death.
