The military publication War Zone reports that General Atomics and Saab have successfully integrated the LoyalEye early warning radar onto the MQ-9 Reaper drone. The system can detect drones, cruise missiles, and fighter jets over 24 hours of sustained flight, eliminating crew risk. Targeting data can be transmitted directly to Aegis-equipped warships and missile defense systems, filling capability gaps left by aging manned aircraft like the E-3 Sentry. This innovation makes advanced early warning technology accessible to nations unable to afford costly manned aerial fleets.
