Venice considers raising entry fee to €50

Venice Mayor Simone Venturini has proposed raising the city's daily entry fee for day-trippers to as much as 50 euros, according to a report from Panorama. The current fee, introduced in 2024 as a pilot program, was set at 5 euros on peak days. The significant increase aims to further manage overtourism and generate revenue for the preservation of the historic city. No timeline for implementation has been announced yet.
