UN warns Libya's political window narrowing

The UN envoy to Libya has warned that the country's political process is regaining momentum but the window for action is narrowing. Libya has been mired in dysfunction since 2011, with a split between the UN-recognized Government of National Unity in Tripoli and eastern-based authorities backed by the House of Representatives and General Haftar's Libyan National Army. Planned elections in December 2021 were postponed, deepening the stalemate.
