China conducts marine survey east of Taiwan

A Chinese research vessel, the Xiangyanghong 22, conducted a rare marine environmental survey in waters east of Taiwan from Tuesday to Thursday, operated by the Ministry of Natural Resources' East China Sea Bureau. The survey aims to reinforce Beijing's jurisdictional claims in the area, following recent maritime boundary talks between Japan and the Philippines. The deployment signals China's ongoing efforts to assert its presence and sovereignty in the region amid heightened tensions over territorial disputes.
