Cuba approves largest economic reform since 1959

Cuba's parliament has unanimously approved the country's most radical economic reforms since the 1959 revolution, providing for the privatization of a significant portion of the economy. The plan includes private real estate development and the creation of new private enterprises, marking a major shift from state-controlled socialism. These measures are part of a broader 176-point reform plan unveiled earlier in response to US pressure and economic crisis.
