Sudanese journalist wins award, denied UK visa

Mohammed Amin, a freelance correspondent for Middle East Eye reporting from Sudan, has won One World Media's prestigious Journalist of the Year award. He was unable to attend the London ceremony on Wednesday night after the UK Home Office refused him a visa, citing concerns he might not leave the country. Accepting via video, Amin said: "The Sudanese are not a heavy burden in this world. We are insisting to be equal partners in humanity."
