SOUTHCOM strikes narco vessel in Eastern Pacific

US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) confirmed a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel engaged in narco-trafficking operations in the Eastern Pacific. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known drug smuggling routes. The operation was conducted by Joint Task Force Southern Spear at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis Donovan. One individual was killed and two survivors were rescued; Coast Guard search and rescue was activated immediately. No U.S. forces were harmed in the operation.
