Greek court returns November 17 leader to prison

Greece's top court has overturned the release of Alexandros Giotopoulos, the mastermind of the defunct November 17 guerrilla group, ordering him back to prison. Giotopoulos, who was freed last month after serving a life sentence, was the leader of Greece's most lethal urban guerrilla organization responsible for 23 murders. Police sources and the Athens News Agency confirmed the court's decision, which reverses his controversial release. The November 17 group carried out assassinations of US, British, and Greek officials between 1975 and 2000.
