Peru police use World Cup mascot costumes to catch drug suspect

Peruvian police officers detained a suspect by dressing up as World Cup mascots during the opening match between Mexico and South Africa. The unusual raid was part of a new strategy to combat drug trafficking, allowing officers to get close without raising suspicion. The detainee, 48-year-old Carlos Cabrera, was found with drugs and a firearm. The 'Green Squad' police unit has previously used costumes like capybaras, Deadpool, and the Grinch for arrests.
