Zimbabwe targets 40,000 dropouts for re-enrolment

The Zimbabwean government has initiated a program to locate and return to school thousands of children who dropped out in 2025, following an EMIS report showing 39,736 learners left the education system. Of these, 13,032 were at primary level and 26,704 at secondary level. Poverty, early marriages, teenage pregnancy, and child labor were cited as the main causes for the high dropout rate.
