Netherlands tests POW camp for 2,000 amid Russia fears

The Netherlands is testing a prisoner-of-war camp capable of housing up to 2,000 personnel for the first time in over 30 years, at the Marnewaard training ground in Groningen. The exercises, reported by AD, are part of preparations for a possible conflict with Russia. The camp can be deployed within a week and will use modern surveillance systems, including cameras with audio detection and drones for real-time monitoring, instead of traditional watchtowers. Civilian contractors who normally build infrastructure for major music festivals may also be involved in constructing such facilities.
