Iran claims downing of US spy drone

Commander of the Iranian Air Defense Force, Alireza Elhami, has claimed his forces shot down an American MQ-4C 'Triton' high-altitude surveillance drone west of the Strait of Hormuz. He framed the incident as a demonstration of Iran's defensive power, boasting that the country's air defense has destroyed over 170 advanced enemy drones and fighters, including F-15s. The commander also used the recent escort of the Pakistan Army Commander to Tehran as proof of secure Iranian airspace, stating the nation's security is guaranteed by its own forces, not foreign aid.
