President Isaac Herzog’s office says he is pushing for a plea deal in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption cases. “President Herzog sees reaching an agreement between the parties in Prime Minister Netanyahu's cases as a proper and correct solution. Therefore, the President believes that it is right to first, before discussing the pardon request, exhaust a process that could lead to a deal between the parties, outside the walls of the court." US President Donald Trump has been pressing Herzog to just grant Netanyahu a pardon so he can get on with the task of leading Israel during a time of war, without the distraction of several weekly depositions.
