Ukraine plans major UGV purchase surge

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has announced plans to purchase 25,000 unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in the first half of 2026, a figure that would surpass the total number procured throughout all of 2025. The goal is to ensure frontline logistics are conducted exclusively by unmanned platforms. To accelerate deliveries, the ministry has unblocked contracting procedures even when costs change, synchronized funding, and increased annual purchase volumes. A new UGV competence center will be launched under the Ministry of Defense to work with the military and General Staff to speed deployment and serve as a single hub for manufacturers.
