Assam Rifles convoy intercepted in Manipur

Around 5 a.m. Thursday, an Assam Rifles convoy traveling to Imphal was intercepted at Dungrei Junction near Hungphung in Ukhrul district, Manipur. Approximately 70‑80 local residents gathered around the convoy, and nearby institutions allegedly made public announcements urging more people to come to the scene. Police from Ukhrul quickly arrived at the location. Authorities are investigating the motives behind the gathering and the interruption of the military movement.
