US tests new low-cost missile for Ukraine

Photos have emerged showing tests of the new AGM-188A Rusty Dagger missile on an F-16 fighter jet in the United States. The munition is being developed under the ERAM program and is intended primarily for Ukraine, where it may also later enter US service. It features a lower cost—around $250,000 compared to millions for other missiles—and a smaller warhead, but retains a flight range of hundreds of kilometers, making it suitable for a wide array of rear-area targets. The report also notes that the similar Red Wolf missile is already being purchased for AH-1Z helicopters, suggesting future Ukrainian helicopter deliveries could include such long-range weapons, expanding Ukraine's deep-strike capabilities.
