DOJ drops probe into Fed Chair Powell

The U.S. Department of Justice has dropped its investigation into outgoing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. President Trump initiated the probe months ago into a Fed renovation project, reportedly to pressure Powell out of office over monetary policy disputes. The President relented after it became clear that opposition to the investigation would jeopardize the confirmation of his preferred successor, Kevin Warsh.
