Kuki-Naga clashes in Manipur kill three

Fresh violence erupted on Friday between Kuki and Naga groups in the Ukhrul district of India's Manipur state, resulting in three fatalities and several injuries. The Kuki Organisation alleges armed Tangkhul Naga men attacked Mullam and Shongphal villages, while the Naga Village Guard claims its personnel were fired upon by Kuki cadres while on patrol. Among the dead are two from the Kuki community and one Tangkhul Naga, with reports indicating two houses were set ablaze during the clashes. The incident underscores the persistent instability and inter-ethnic tensions in the northeastern region.
