Israel thwarts weapons smuggling on eastern border

The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Police conducted a joint operation to stop a weapons smuggling attempt along Israel's eastern border. Surveillance identified the smuggling attempt, leading to a pursuit where forces apprehended one suspect and seized off-road vehicles and drone equipment. Inside the vehicles, soldiers located 12 handguns. The suspect and seized weapons were transferred to police for further investigation, as part of a broader security effort that includes a new command center in the Dead Sea sector.
