Vance AFB closed after tornado damage

Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma, is closed until further notice with only mission-essential personnel authorized to report following a direct tornado strike. The base sustained significant damage, including destroyed buildings and vehicles sent flying. Recovery and damage assessment operations are now underway as the base remains in a restricted status.
