India's BEL secures $680M in new defence orders

Indian state-owned defence firm Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has announced securing fresh orders worth 569 crore rupees (approximately $68 million). The new orders cover a range of advanced systems including avionics, electronic warfare suites, high-energy laser systems, communication equipment, and tank sub-systems. This reinforces BEL's central role in India's indigenous defence electronics ecosystem, with the company's total order book now standing at around 74,000 crore rupees as of April 1, 2026.
