Third US carrier arrives in CENTCOM area

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush has arrived in its area of responsibility in the Middle East. This marks the first time in several decades that three US aircraft carriers—the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Gerald R. Ford, and now the USS George H.W. Bush—are operating simultaneously in the region. The carrier strike groups are accompanied by their air wings, comprising more than 200 aircraft and approximately 15,000 sailors and Marines. This unprecedented concentration of naval power occurs amid heightened tensions and ongoing US military operations in the Middle East.
