Israel claims Trump admin backs West Bank settlements

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has stated that Israel's settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank is being carried out with the full backing of the Trump administration. He claims the expansion is coordinated with Washington, with over 51,000 housing units approved since 2022. The Israel Defense Forces have also expanded demolition operations in the territory to facilitate this construction.
