Hapag-Lloyd ships stuck in Persian Gulf

The major German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has stated that its merchant vessels are currently unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz and are stuck in the Persian Gulf due to the ongoing conflict with Iran. CEO Rolf Habben Jansen said the company is waiting for an opportunity to pass through the strategic chokepoint, which remains effectively blockaded. This disruption highlights the severe impact on global shipping and commercial trade from the US-led naval blockade and military operations in the region.
