Russia offers high pay for contract soldiers in Moscow

Russian recruitment efforts are intensifying in the Belgorod region with a targeted mail campaign offering substantial financial incentives for contract soldiers. Personalized letters are being placed in mailboxes offering men aged 18 to 60 a one-time payment of 800,000 rubles or more and a monthly salary of 210,000 rubles for a one-year contract. The letters also promise the return of confiscated driver's licenses, the writing off of credit debts and utility fines, and protection of combat payments during bankruptcy proceedings. This follows similar high-pay recruitment campaigns in Moscow, indicating a nationwide push to bolster military manpower.
