Iran deploys old tanker as floating oil storage

Iran is reactivating the 30-year-old crude oil tanker Nasha to use as offshore floating storage. The vessel had been anchored empty for several years but is now needed as Iran's onshore storage capacity is running out due to the effective US maritime blockade. With exports largely halted, Iran faces the prospect of having to shut in its oil wells—a costly and complex process that would take months to reverse—if it cannot find additional storage space.
