Russia's Orlan drone ready for export

Russia's Special Technology Center (STC) has announced it has increased production capacity for its Orlan line of reconnaissance UAVs, creating a potential surplus for export. An STC representative stated at the Defence Services Asia exhibition in Malaysia that if domestic contracts are fulfilled, the company could supply the drones abroad through state arms exporter Rosoboronexport. The company is also working to modernize the Orlan, with efforts focused on reducing its radar and visual signature and overall dimensions. The specific form factor and capabilities of future models will depend on customer requirements.
