Peru confirms $462M for F-16CV fighter deal

Peru is moving forward with a major fighter jet acquisition from the United States. The Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance has confirmed an initial transfer of $462 million for the purchase of one dozen F-16CV "Viper" aircraft. This payment marks a significant step in finalizing the long-discussed deal to modernize Peru's air force fleet. The advanced F-16CVs will replace Peru's aging MiG-29 and Mirage 2000 fighters.
