India fast-tracks two MRSAM regiments

India is rapidly strengthening its air defense network with the approval to induct two new regiments of the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) system. The system, jointly developed by India's DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries and based on the Barak-8, is designed to intercept fighter jets, cruise missiles, drones, and other modern aerial threats at a range of over 70 kilometers. It can handle multiple targets simultaneously and has been successfully tested by the Indian Army's Eastern and Southern Commands.
