Japan rules out lethal aid to Ukraine

The Japanese Embassy in Russia has issued a statement clarifying Tokyo's position on military aid to Ukraine. The embassy stated Japan is not considering the possibility of supplying lethal weapons to Kyiv. It noted that Japan has not signed an agreement with Ukraine on the transfer of defense equipment and technologies, which legally precludes Ukraine from being a recipient of such aid. This stance maintains Japan's long-standing policy of restricting arms exports and its constitutional limits on military engagement.
