Fire detected on Arabat Spit in Crimea

NASA FIRMS satellite data has detected a fire on the Arabat Spit in Crimea, an area historically used by Russian military units. The location was previously struck in 2023 by a Ukrainian Storm Shadow missile, which killed Russian Interior Ministry colonel Serhiy Postovalov. The cause of the current fire is not yet confirmed, but it highlights the continued focus on military logistics and support areas in occupied Crimea. The Arabat Spit is a narrow strip of land separating the Sea of Azov from the Syvash lagoon.
