Ukraine uses Yak-52 to shoot down drones

Ukraine's 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade "Kherson" is continuing its novel air defense operations using a 1970s-era Yak-52 trainer aircraft. The brigade has released new footage showing the light aircraft being used to hunt and shoot down Russian Shahed drones and reconnaissance UAVs over the Black Sea coast near Odesa. The tactic involves a crew member using rifle fire from the aircraft to engage the slower-moving drones, providing a low-cost counter to Russia's persistent aerial attacks.
