Lithuania buys US counter-drone systems

Lithuania's Ministry of Defense has announced an accelerated procurement of the Merops AS-3 Surveyor counter-drone system from American manufacturer Perennial Autonomy. The purchase includes 48 interceptor drones, split evenly between variants equipped with thermal imaging and radio-frequency homing heads. The contract also covers training and support for integrating the systems with existing radar networks. This move follows similar acquisitions by the United States and Poland, highlighting a growing NATO focus on counter-drone capabilities.
