Lufthansa details route cuts amid fuel crisis

Lufthansa is proceeding with its plan to cancel 20,000 short-haul flights scheduled between May and October due to a sharp spike in jet fuel prices. The airline will specifically remove routes from its major hubs in Frankfurt am Main and Munich, while expanding services from Zurich, Vienna, and Brussels. Flights to and from Rome will also be reduced as part of the fuel-saving restructuring. The cancellations are a direct response to the doubling of fuel costs attributed to the ongoing global geopolitical tensions.
