Russian military uses seized civilian cars

A Chevrolet Camaro with military license plates belonging to Russia's Military Automobile Inspectorate (VAI) has been spotted operating in the border areas of Kursk and Belgorod. According to the Mash Telegram channel, the vehicle was seized from a civilian in 2025 for repeat driving offenses and handed over 'for the needs of the army.' The report alleges that other impounded luxury vehicles, including BMW and Mercedes models, have also been transferred to military police units, with VAI officers selecting cars from impound lots.
