🔽Watch with the sound on! This is a men’s beauty contest among the Wodaabe tribe. Once a year, the men paint their faces in bright colors, wear traditional ornaments, and participate in a ritual to impress the women. This is how the women choose a husband or a partner for the night. The men perform a special dance imitating the movements of the Egyptian heron, even copying its calls.
