🇩🇪 Germany Considers Raising Reservist Age to 70 Germany’s new head of the Reservists’ Association, Bastian Ernst, has called for raising the maximum age for reservists from 65 to 70 to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities. “We must raise the age limit… People remain fit longer. We should not waste the potential of those with life and professional experience. If we complain about issues among the younger generation, we must also adjust on the other side of the age pyramid,” he said. ➡Ernst also pointed out that the retirement age is increasing. Currently, Bundeswehr reservists are not required to participate in military exercises and must agree along with their employers — a system he proposes to change by removing employer consent requirements. 🪖 By 2035, Germany’s military is expected to grow to at least 260,000 active personnel and 200,000 reservists. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is set to present a new military strategy and capability profile for the Bundeswehr. #Germany #Bundeswehr #Military #Europe #Defense 🔘 Subscribe now!
