Russian bombers redeploy, train in Baltic

Two Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers redeployed from Olenya Airbase in Murmansk Oblast to Soltsy-2 Airbase in Novgorod Oblast, which is increasingly being used by the bomber fleet. From there, the bombers carried out a training mission over the Baltic Sea on April 20, escorted by two Su-35S fighters. The flight path approached Danish airspace, prompting the Royal Danish Air Force to scramble two JAS 39 Gripen and two F-35A fighters in response.
