Peru signs $3.5B deal for F-16 Block 70 jets

The Peruvian government has signed a major defense contract to acquire twelve F-16 Block 70 fighter aircraft, along with associated weapons and support equipment, valued at $3.5 billion USD. The Block 70 is the latest and most advanced variant of the F-16 Viper. Notably, this variant obtained its first air-to-air kills during the recent Iran war, with a Bahraini F-16 Block 70 downing two drones. The deal represents a significant modernization of Peru's air combat capabilities.
