US to deploy third carrier to Middle East

The US aircraft carrier USS George Bush is en route to the Middle East and is expected to arrive within days. According to an NBC report, it will join the USS Abraham Lincoln near the Strait of Oman and the USS Gerald Ford in the Red Sea. The Bush will likely replace the Ford, which has been deployed for approximately 300 consecutive days. This rotation will result in a temporary, limited-time presence of three American aircraft carriers operating in the region.
