Russian commander claims 2 million Ukrainian losses

Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces and a Russian lieutenant general, told TASS that Ukrainian Armed Forces losses throughout the entire conflict are approaching 2 million. He stated that a figure of 1.7 million had leaked months ago, and additional casualties since then bring the total to approximately 2 million or beyond. Alaudinov also claimed Ukraine faces an extremely difficult situation with mobilization, struggling to replenish both the quality and numbers of its fighters. The claims, made to a Russian state news agency, are unverified and represent one side's assessment of the war's toll.
